The fourth installment in the UniDoom Deathmatch series was released on December 31st 2008, and it boasts 32 levels of heart pounding excitement!!!!!!! There was a very early preliminary build of UDMX made in 2005, which was the Elizabeth Bathory Approved edition. It had a darker color palette and a nice range of purples. This version was eventually scrapped and a bunch of my maps for it went into Dynamite DM. I’ll probably eventually get around to making a sub-page for the 2005 builds, but not right now goddamnit!!!

Screenshot_Doom_20131013_223711 Plasma Grid Map05 RottKing In the 2005 scrapped build of UDMX, this map used to have a bunch of blood and flesh objects in the main arena, and Ralph gave me shit for it. I kept the impaled guy in the bleachers just to spite him, and it became sort of an in-joke. Guy on a stick is #1 UD fan. This map is also famous for the surprise in the exit room. I was really happy it gave so many people heart attacks.
Screenshot_Doom_20131013_211051 Miami Manslaughter Map08 RottKing & Nautilus Out of all the maps I’ve made for UDMX, I think I like this one the most. Naut helped with this map by connecting the two buildings in the alleyway together. When I saw what he did I was like, DAM, why didn’t I think of that?!?
udmx-map09-before1udmx-map09-1 Red Nose Reef Map09 Nautilus & RotKing Naut’s chill ass beach themed level. I basically just tidied up the map and added some scenic details like the building pictured in the second screenshot.
Screenshot_Doom_20131013_211128 Gosh-Darn Keep Map12 Nautilus & RottKing This level was entirely untextured when I opted to take the map and make it all pretty. I went for a Doom Episode 4 theme and I’m really happy with how it came out. I also added monsters Because Reasons.
Screenshot_Doom_20131013_224152 Quark Map14 RottKing This map is primarily inspired by Quake 3 map designs, with lots of wide spaces, plenty of height variation, and a few long hallways for good measure. Unfortunately it doesn’t work quite as well for Doom FFA, so the map ended up feeling kinda boring. Would be good for TDM and LMS though!
udmx-map16-before1 udmx-map16-1 Pingabringa Map16 Harvey, Ralphis, & RottKing This map was made by old school UD member Harvey. The map was pretty ugly though, so Ralph started working on it to make it not look like ASS. He got tired of that though so he passed it on to me and I finished it up.
udmx-map18-before2 udmx-map18-after2 The Edge Flashback Map18 Ralphis & RottKing Ralph spiffed up his old “The Edge” remake from UDM2 and stuck it into UDMX as a flashback map. He asked me to detail some areas of the map, like the area pictured to the left.
udmx-map21-before1 udmx-map21-after1 The Cursed Library Map21 Ralphis & RottKing Another map Ralph couldn’t be ARSED to detail so I took it upon myself to do it. I DO EVERYTHING AROUND HERE GODDAMNIT!!! Considering how small the map is though it was pretty fun to detail.
Screenshot_Doom_20131013_224249 The Brown Insanity Map22 RottKing A map ripped off inspired by one of the deathmatch levels in the game Blood by Monolith software. If you’ve seen Blood’s deathmatch levels I’m sure you can guess which one it is! Fun fact: one of the levels in Half-Life 2 Deathmatch also ripped off used the same map as inspiration!
udmx-map23-before1 udmx-map23-after1 Acid Jail Map23 Nautilus & RottKing This map was dumb as a mule and twice as ugly when I got my hands on it to UNFUCK all the visuals. The first screenshot isn’t even the original map, this was after I touched it up a bit. Too bad I can’t find the original so you can see the STINKING MESS I had to deal with! THANKS NAUT!!!
udmx-map27-1 Castlemania Map27 RottKing A medieval castle dm map, not really inspired by anything. My second favorite map of mine in UDMX. You can find Guts’ Dragon Slayer sword somewhere in the map, can you find it?!?!?!?!?!
